A graduate of the University of Houston, Debra “Deb” Warren earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in computer science. Deb started with Lake Country AHEC in September 2002 as the Community Based Education (CBE) coordinator and Co-Health Literacy Coordinator with the center. Currently, she continues to be responsible for CBE activities within the 26 county Lake Country AHEC region. She is also the Project Director for the Texas Cancer Council program Growing Healthy: Developing Healthy Lifestyles for Prevention Sake and coordinator for the Van School Based Health Clinic contract. Previous AHEC experience includes working at Piney Woods AHEC, November 1998 – August 2002, located in Nacogdoches, Texas. At PWAHEC she worked on another Texas Cancer Council project titled Community Based Cancer Prevention and Control Program. Prior to AHEC Deb worked for approximately 11 years at the University of Houston Counseling and Testing Services department. There she worked in the Measurement and Evaluation office overseeing the daily operations of the office, generating psychological profiles for the counseling staff and providing faculty assistance with data analysis.
