The insure•a•kid Texas Grants
for school outreach represent an effort to build a sustainable
system of outreach for children’s health insurance in
local school districts across the state. A collaboration of
the Lake Country Area Health Education Center, Insure A Kid,
and local school districts, the project is made possible by
MSDF (Michael and Susan Dell Foundation).
Goals • Collect information from parents
each year to determine needs
• Train district personnel to assist with CHIP/Medicaid applications
• Communicate with parents to provide updated information
• Integrate procedures into district policy
